Now it is time to reflect my learning, I would share my lesson learn on my interesting topic along with online discussion engagement. The content of lesson learn will be available on YouTube. Subsequently, discussion participation, summary and action plan will be discussed in the blog post.

MOOC & ELE Participation

I could not deny that engaging online discussion has enhanced my public confidence, knowledges and learn to embrace other’s opinion. It is because before I posted anything, I would read other people comment for more in-depth understanding. Thanks to diverse students’ background, I have perceived different viewpoints from them, which encourage me to think outside of the box. I also explore the ideas further related to the topic in order to participate the online discussion. The following is my engagement with online community throughout this coursework.

Blog Post 1 (Job impacted by technology)

Xiaoman blogpost: She thinks that translation tools could ease language barrier in international trade salesman. However, I disagree that because it could be misleading on interpretation due to jargon and time-consuming.

Jliu blogpost: I and her agree that modern technology could impress customer’s experience at hotel. However, I disagree at some point since it might not be suitable for some group of people and some extra service request.

Aside from that, I and my classmates have developed discussion throughout my blogpost. As a result, I have learnt my friend’s perspective and their shared working experience towards HR role.

Blog Post 2 (Business Model)

Emma blogpost: I learn about how TripAdvisor operates its business and agree with her content on the successful factors coming from open-large community, authorized user review and mobile technology.

James blogpost: I am so surprised that Saintsbury’s has implemented modern technology for their customers and employees including self-checkout on mobile, replenishment notification system, and Yammer although they are grocery store but not technology company.

Throughout the module, I have developed some skills which are useful for my life.

To sum up, the module content is extremely valuable to me because I learn how technology has impacted on my life, and businesses. Moreover, it has developed my writing skills, critical thinking, more in-depth understanding of content from online discussion and blogpost. Therefore, my confidence, communication skills together with ability to evaluate online information have been tremendously improved. I believe that knowledge and skills acquired from this module will be beneficial to my future career.
